Metropole Orchestra
On Monday the 10th of December 2012, we in The Netherlands got the news message about quitting with the yearly 7 million euro’s of subsidiaries, for the Metropole Orchestra in Holland. (http://www.nu.nl/muziek/2979197/einde-in-zicht-metropole-orkest.html)

Hello, my name is Dani Rogosic, a producer/musician/composer from The Netherlands (http://rogosic.com), and I’m here to talk about the event I mentioned above. But first I like to say: Sorry for my English. It is far for perfect, I know, and I hope you can (and will) read through that.

My opinion about the music subsidiarity
In my opinion it isn’t a weird thing why the Dutch Government will stop paying subsidiarity to the Metropole Orchesta. There are a lot of people in The Netherlands who need healthcare and don’t get that because of a money shortage from the government! I choose the topic healthcare here because it effects everybody at some point. Off course there are lots of other important topics, but to keep it simple I stay with healthcare!

Healthcare
The government will also cut through the subsidy’s in healthcare. They are planning to save 5 billion to 16 billion euro’s each year!!!!! (http://www.nu.nl/nieuws/2945272/mes-in-zorg-overheid-en-sociale-zekerheid.html)
I know, the 7 million euro’s from the Metropole Orchestra will not make the problem dissapear, FAR from it!!! But it’s a piece, and even a child can do this math: Lots of pieces can make a whole.

My point of view
And here comes my point of view:
I think that they should cancel all the subsidy’s in Holland for music, art and other privileges!! We are spoiled people here in The Netherlands!!! We eat, drink and do what we want! It has been, and still is an AMAZING time to live! We don’t have to worry about food, water and medicine shortage. And hey! We can even watch EVERY movie we like for FREE on the internet!! Ooo… And listen to some albums for free? Well hello Youtube!! Awesome right???
Well, I can go on for hours what we can, and have! But, let’s return to me for a second. (Yeah, I like talking about myself from time to time. Who doesn’t, right?)

Dani Rogosic revisited
Like mentioned before, I’m a musician from The Netherlands and I play guitar (acoustic, electrical and bass) and keyboard. I also compose and produce a lot in my home studio. I have played in the bands SPCHLSS, Joe2, Dream Catcher, Xtremusica, AMS Band and some others. At the moment I play in the coverband Infinity and I have my solo-project The Rogosic Chronicles. I’m a musician who doesn’t have recieved a cent of subsidy for my music contributions! I have always worked to have the chance to buy my instruments and studio gear myself! The guitarlessons and other music educations I did, I payed myself! (And my parents when I was younger)
Yeah, I hear you thinking: “The school does get subsidy so the students have to pay less!”
Not all true! Two of my educations we’re private schools! And hey, not even that expensive!! So yeah, there are other options. Even better, more options will rise because people are without work! It’s a problem that shifts! And those shifts are a part of the solutions these days!!

About other musicians
About the musicians who think they have to get paid what they do. If You really love what you are doing, you’re happy with the fact that you CAN do what you LOVE!!!! I myself GIVE AWAY my music, my albums, my guitar lessons. And Youtube is FULL of talented musicians that to this thing the same way!!! Why the hell should there be a fund to pay other musicians, when the money is needed elsewhere!!!
